East Pierce Fire and Rescue conducted a safety burn today at a home on the 14500 block of Pioneer Way E., just outside the city limits of Sumner.
Training burns help the department practice -- it's not every day the firefighters get to prepare for dramatic fire rescues outside of an emergency.
