East Pierce Firefighters Fundraise for Columbia Tower Stairclimb
On Sunday, firefighters from East Pierce Fire and Rescue raised $12,225 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in preparation for the 20th Annual Scott Stairclimb.
On Sunday, Feb. 20, East Pierce Stairclimb Team volunteers raised $12,225 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. They started out the day by serving breakfast to Bonney Lake patrons, who dined on a breakfast of pancakes, eggs and bacon.
After breakfast, the team donned full firefighter gear and set up a table and stair climb machine at the Sumner . They answered questions and accepted donations while taking turns on the stairclimber.
The East Pierce volunteers raised about $7,000 throughout the day for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

It’s all building up to the 20th Annual Scott Firefighter Stairclimb, where the 27 volunteers from East Pierce will join 1500 other firefighters from around the country and climb the stairs of the Columbia Tower in downtown Seattle, while wearing full protection gear. All the money raised by participants will go to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
