East Pierce Firefighters on Scene at Brush Fire Near Tehaleh

Firefighters are battling a brush fire on 198th Ave. E. that started Friday evening.

fire is out. Working on mop up and hot spots. a crew will spend the night out at scene to ensure no rekindle.

Brush fire is currently being contained. No homes threatened. Relative humidity is high enough to prevent fast spread.

Firefighters from East Pierce Fire and Rescue are at the scene of a brush fire on the 1400 block of 198th Ave. E., according to their Facebook page.

They describe it as "slow-moving, in light to moderate fuels" and are unsure of its total size at this time. There have been brush fires in the area before and units have been at the scene since about 4 p.m. Friday.
