The firefighters arrived at the tower at 7 a.m. and had climbers there until 5 p.m., said East Pierce team leader Jacob Poisson. After the climb was over, the firefighters had to refill the oxygen tanks and put them back in service at their various stations, which had them busy until 9 p.m. this evening.

So far the team has raised $9,248.40 toward the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, and are still working toward their $10,000 goal before the deadline in one week.
