Garbage Service Rates To Increase In Bonney Lake
The city's annual garbage service rate increase coincides with an increase in rates at the Pierce County landfill.

BONNEY LAKE, WA - The city on Friday announced its plan to increase garbage service rates for DM Disposal and Recycling customers, both residential and commercial, beginning March 1, 2019. The city and DM Disposal have annually increased garbage service rates to coincide with increased rates to use the Pierce County landfill since 2016.
When the new rates take effect next year, a residential customer who currently pays $25.68 per month for a 35 gallon bin will see their bill increase more than 12 percent to $29 per month. The total aggregate increase across all residential customers averages about 4.6 percent, and 5.2 percent for commercial customers.
DM Disposal District Manager Josh Metcalf in a letter to the Bonney Lake City Council said the landfill rates for Pierce County will increase 4.42 percent to $164.34 per ton as of March 1, prompting the garbage rate service increase.
