Heavy Rain, Wind to Hit Region Saturday, Snow Expected in Mountains
Rain and snow is expected to hit Western Washington starting Saturday, the National Weather Service reports.

A major change in weather is coming this weekend, according to a special alert from the National Weather Service.
Rainfall is expected throughout the weekend into next week, with wind gusts that could reach up to 55 mph along the coast and northern interior.
Snow level should be high enough that some flooding in local rivers is likely. Itβs likely to fluctuate between 3,000 and 5,000 feet over the next week during rainfall. The Washington Pass on North Cascades Highway is expected to get heavy snow, plus places like Paradise on Mt. Rainier and Mt. Baker. The lower passes in Snoqualmie, Stevens and White Pass will probably get a mixture of rain and snow this weekend. Travel is likely to be affected.
