Help Emerald Hills Elementary Win $5,000 for Classroom Technology

What would your school do with $5,000 worth of new technology?

That’s the question Century Link asked teachers across the region. Seven classrooms responded and each uploaded a video showing what they would do with the latest learning tools.

submitted a video proposing a “flipped classroom” model – students would receive handheld devices that they could use at home and school showing teacher-made videos with white board lessons to help them understand difficult concepts better.

Mr. Martin’s math class was depicted in the video. Martin taught the Pythagorean theorem and students were shown at home later having a hard time remembering the lesson. With the new technology, students could re-watch his lesson on a tablet or smartphone while they work on their homework.

Vote in Century Link’s Teachers & Technology competition now through Sunday, May 13.

During the voting period, you can come back to the site and vote once per day. As of 10 a.m. on Monday, May 7, Emerald Hills Elementary snagged 119 votes toward a win.
