Pain at the Pump: Gas Prices Topping $4 Per Gallon in Bonney Lake and Sumner

Gas prices are inching to over $4 per gallon at gas stations in Bonney Lake and Sumner, but prices are lower than they were the same time last year, according to NPR.

Gas prices in the Bonney Lake and SumnerΒ area are tipping the $4 mark for a gallon of regular unleaded fuel as road trip season approaches, but prices aren't expected to reach the levels seen in 2012.

According to NPR, national gas prices are about 15 percent lower than this time last year, due to a spike in crude oil production.

But, the pain at the pump is still very real for the average consumer. With Memorial Day only two weeks away, gas prices in Tacoma are averaging atΒ $4.02Β per gallon, according to AAA. Just a year ago,Β regular unleaded fuel costΒ $4.25.

On GasBuddy.com,Β cheapest gas in Bonney LakeΒ can be foundΒ at the ARCO onΒ State RouteΒ 410 East andΒ Old Sumner Buckley Highway,Β at $3.83 per gallon. Other affordable options include Safeway ($3.85), Fred MeyerΒ ($3.89) and Chevron ($3.97).Β 

In Sumner, Fred Meyer on Vally Avenue sells the cheapest gas at $3.83 per gallon. Also atΒ ARCO on Main Street and Shell on 166th Avenue East, prices are $4.05 and $4.09, respectively.
