Panthers Finish Season Against Lancers, 14-42

Bonney Lake Panthers struggled to keep momentum, but ultimately lost to Lakes' Lancers.

It wasn't exactly Friday night lights, but theΒ Bonney Lake HighΒ ο»ΏPanthers and their fans showed up to finish off the season at the last home game on Saturday.

The game was originally scheduled for Friday night, but as the stadium was filling and the band warmed up, Athletic Director Tim Thomsen took the microphone to let the crowd know the game was cancelled.

En route to the stadium, the Lakes High School team bus was in a car accident. The damage was minimal and there were no injuries, but the Clover Park School District decided to cancel the event to make sure everyone was healthy. The game was rescheduled for 4 p.m. Saturday.

The Panthers scored early, but were overcome by Lakes, with the final score 14-42.

"We can only focus on today and our next game, and prepare for what's ahead," said Panthers Head Coach Chad Barrett. "We've got to work harder and focus our energies on being a better team."
