Public Notice: Sumner to Consider Acquiring Property to Expand Wastewater Treatment Facility

The City of Sumner has issued a final notice on its intention to purchase a parcel of land for further expansion of the Sumner Wastewater Treatment Facility.

The Sumner City Council has scheduled a meeting for March 21 to consider the final steps of acquiring property located at 13220 63rd Street East, also known as 320 Harrison St. The property is adjacent to the city’s Wastewater Treatment Facility and is necessary to expand the facility, said the city clerk in a final action notice.

The council would purchase the land to condemn it, in order to expand the facility in the future. The City Council will discuss the scope and reason for potential action to authorize condemnation before it will decide whether to approve one or more ordinances authorizing the condemnation of the affected property.

The meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. on March 21 in Sumner City Council chambers.
