[UPDATED] Sumner Police: No One Was Stabbed and Thrown Out of Moving Car, Wounds Were Self-Inflicted
An early report about a man who was stabbed and thrown out of a vehicle was determined by Sumner detectives to be self-inflicted.

A man transported to an area trauma center with life-threatening injuries was not stabbed and then thrown out of a moving vehicle in Sumner last night, as reported this morning after Patch received a press release on the incident from East Pierce Fire and Rescue.
The following investigation determined the man's injuries were self-inflicted, according to Sumner detectives and city communications.
"It appeared no criminal activity has happened at this time," said Carmen Palmer, spokesperson from the city of Sumner.

Patch followed up with East Pierce and learned that the call came in as a stabbing incident and was treated based upon what the victim told paramedics.
The young man in his mid-20s was found on the shoulder of the road of Eastbound SR 410 between the Traffic Ave. and Valley Ave. exits with a laceration to his abdomen.
