Steve Allsop Named Deputy Mayor of Sumner

Two-term city councilman Steve Allsop has been voted Deputy Mayor of Sumner in 2012.

The city council voted 6-1 Tuesday night to make Allsop the second-ranking official, with Councilmember Randy Hynek the only dissenting.

As deputy mayor, Allsop will serve in Mayor Dave Enslow's place if he happens to be absent or ill during any official meeting or decision. If an official vote were to take place in Enslow's absence, Allsop would not be able to participate, as he will be acting mayor in that meeting.
