Sumner Girls Soccer Advances to Elite 8
Sumner defeated Hockinson 1-0 in a playoff match on their home turf on Tues., Nov. 8.
The Lady Spartans have kept opponents on their toes all season and now the soccer team has advanced to Elite 8 after winning the opening round of the state Class 2A state tournament on Tuesday.
Final score was Sumner: 1, Hockinson 0, thanks to a last-minute goal by Megan Fenton, assisted by Kaylie Rozell.
Sumner will now advance to host the quarterfinals. The next game begins at 3 p.m. Saturday and will be played at Sunset Chev Stadium.
