Sumner Liquor Store To Close Monday; Bonney Lake Location Shutters Wednesday

Dozen of state-owned liquor stores are scheduled to close between Monday and Thursday of next week, including the Bonney Lake and Sumner locations.

With private stores getting ready to enter to the liquor business in Washington, the state Liquor Control Board has released a schedule of several-dozen liquor stores that it will close next week.

The list - which covers the last remaining stores operated by the state - includes the Bonney Lake and Sumner liquor stores.

Sumner's liquor store officially closes Monday, May 28. Bonney Lake's location will close its doors on Wednesday, May 30.

Several local retailers have applied for liquor licenses, once distribution becomes privatized. .
