Sumner School District Announces Special Hours for First Day of School

All schools in the will begin the 2011-2012 year on Sept. 7, with the exception of kindergarten, according to a special announcement from the communications office.

Here’s a run-down of school times for the first day back:

Kindergarten

• Blue classes begin school on Sept. 9. For kindergarteners in the red class, first day of school is Sept. 12. Parents should check with individual school for more information.

Elementary

• All elementary schools will operate on a Wednesday late-start time for students in grades 1-5; there will be no kindergarten.

 Middle/High School

• 6th graders: Start time is 7:25 a.m., students will be picked up on normal bus weekday schedules.
• 7th/8th graders: School begins at 12:25 p.m., bus transportation will be five hours later than regular weekday bus schedule. School lunch will not be served.

High School

• 9th graders: Start time is 7:25 a.m., students will be picked up according to regular bus weekday schedules for a full-day schedule.
• 10-12 graders: School will begin at 12:25 p.m., bus transportation will be five hours later than regular weekday schedule. School lunch will not be served.
