Sumner School District Decides Snow Make-Up Days, Changes School Calendar

Because of last week's emergency school cancellations, students lost a week of instruction, practice and review before end-of-semester testing. To provide students and teachers with adequate time for instruction and assessment, first semester is extended by one week.

This means first semester ends on February 6 and the student waiver day for professional development-grading/flex day is moved from January 30 to February 6.

• January 30: SCHOOL DAY for all students K-12.
• February 3: Last day of middle and high schools' first semester.
• February 6: NO SCHOOL for all students K-12.
• February 7: First day of middle and high schools' second semester.

Changes to 2011-12 School Calendar: Snow Make-Up Days
At this time there have been 4 days of school closure due to weather. The current school calendar includes 2 days for weather make-up in May.

• May 25 and May 29 will be school days for all students K-12.

The additional 2 make-up days have not yet been scheduled.
