The WHO House, a non-profit organization who is affiliated with Valley Girls and Guys had its first event on Thursday, November 12 for Evonne Kruger, a bus driver for Tahoma School District for over 29 years. Tina McDonough received a phone call from Evonne’s daughter, Andrea Smith, asking if her if she had any connections with the Seahawks because her mother was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer and was told there wasn’t anymore treatment that can be done and Andrea wanted to do something to honor her mom. Knowing her mother is a HUGE Seahawk fan, Andrea (Personius) Smith knew just what her mother would love and told Tina. Tina went to work making calls to all her friends in the area to let them know and on Thursday morning Evonne was escorted to the Tahoma Bus Garage, where she has been a bus driver for 29 years for a blue and green party like no other. As she was driven to the garage over 200 people lined the parking lot dressed in Seahawk colors waving flags, signs and balloons welcoming Evonne. Evonne was overwhelmed with all the blue and green and very surprised to see a lot of her coworkers, family, community members, Norm Johnson (Former Seahawk kicker), the double decker Beast Bus, Blitz, WeeHawk, SeaGals and the ponies all there cheering her on. Evonne grew up in Maple Valley, raised her family in Maple Valley and worked in Maple Valley and has a lot of friends in Maple Valley. Evonne’s family is now spread out and the best surprise of all for her was seeing her daughter, Andrea Smith, who now lives in California her son, Tommy Personius with wife Joanie and their two kids, Jaquie and Zack from Lake Stevens, her brother Mike Williams and wife Judyann and daughter Olivia Williams from Squim and her brother Lloyd Williams and daughter Katrina Williams from Pacific and her boyfriend Gary Baker all there rallying her on as well.
