Experienced Skier Dies In Avalanche Near Mt. Rainier
The avalanche happened in the back-country at an elevation of about 6,000 feet

A 32-year-old man described as an experienced skier died in an avalanche near the White Pass Ski Area on Tuesday.
Adam Roberts was originally from Randle, but had recently lived in Bellingham. He died after triggering an avalanche near 6 p.m. Tuesday while skiing outside the bounds of the White Pass Ski Area, which is southeast of Mt. Rainier along Highway 12.
A search and rescue team reportedly found Roberts under about 6 feet of snow. According to the Northwest Avalanche Center, avalanche danger remains very high in back-country areas of the Cascades.

Roberts was an avid outdoors enthusiast, and students at the Western Washington University school of journalism produced a video featuring him. You can watch the full video here:
