FBI, Police Raid Enumclaw Dairy Farm
The corruption investigation involving former King County Drainage District commissioner Allen Thomas led police to Thomas' farm Friday.

ENUMCLAW, WA — FBI and Enumclaw police investigators looking into a corruption case against former King County Drainage District 5 commissioner Allen "Benny" Thomas last Friday reportedly searched a farmhouse on Thomas' property in Enumclaw, though no arrests were made.
The corruption investigation, which began in 2017, accuses Allen of depositing into his own private bank account $413,000 out of $500,000 collected in taxes from district property owners. The money, Enumclaw police records show, was later spent on expenses for his own local 150-acre dairy farm.
Thomas has reportedly denied any wrongdoing in the case.

A county commissioner since 1988, Thomas allegedly created a contracting service in his son's name, depositing tax revenue meant for maintaining ditches in the district without actually performing the expected Drainage District work.
A report from the Enumclaw Courier-Herald, published in May 2019, describes in detail where specific tax dollar amounts were funneled for Thomas' personal benefit. And an online copy of the Enumclaw police report, filed in November 2017, shares even more information from previously interviewed sources and victims of Thomas' alleged actions.
