Monday's drowning was the area's second in two days.

ENUMCLAW, WA — A man drowned near the Green River Gorge Monday morning, just 48 hours after a woman drowned in the same area.

King County rescue teams responded to reports of a man who fell in the water and disappeared shortly before noon Monday. The sheriff's marine unit, along with dive teams from Renton and Enumclaw, searched for the man with some aerial assistance from a local news chopper.

Fire crews said the man's body was later found a half-mile downstream.
