Maple Valley Creative Arts Council Updates

It has been a busy week for MV Creative Art Center who hosted two big events this past Saturday, July 11! The first event was showcasing artwork of Anette Lusher – the well-known oil painter and frequent participant of the MV Art Walk. Many guest showed up to admire Anette’s striking artwork and to purchase her paintings. While people wandered through the Art Gallery, they enjoyed a solo jazz performance provided by Naomi Fanshier and beverages served by Taphouse, Ink. - our local restaurant. For those who preferred sipping a glass of wine in the outdoor breeze (weather was much cooler that day!), a charming outdoor café was set up just for our events. Over 13 pieces of art were sold (paintings and sculpture) and there were two happy winners of a hat-drawing contest who walked home with small oil painting created by Anette just for the occasion!

The second and equally charming event started at 7 p.m. with performance by Natalie Murphy, a Maple Valley native and graduate of Tahoma High School. The intimate atmosphere was highlighted with artistic solo covers and stunning original tunes that inspired her throughout her life. Guests were casually serenaded into the night, while sipping on refreshing libations served by Taphouse, Ink.
