WSP Conducts Distracted Driving Crackdown This Weekend
Distracted driving is responsible for 30 percent of all traffic deaths and 23 percent of all serious injury crashes in Washington.

ENUMCLAW, WA – It's never a good idea to look at your phone while you are driving. It's actually against the law.
Yet, people still do it.
This weekend, the Washington State Patrol is cracking down on the practice. They will be out in force, across the state, making sure people are not driving distracted. This year, troopers have already stopped 18,657 drivers, a significant increase over 2017 when they only stopped 17,058 drivers all year.
