After a competitive recruitment process, the City of Gig Harbor is pleased to announce the appointment of Linda Kelly to the leadership position of City Administrator.

Ms. Kelly has served in local government for over 27 years, most recently as the Town Manager of Windsor, California, leading a staff of 100 serving a population of 27,000. She holds a Master of Arts in Political Science from U.C. Riverside, a Certificate in Human Resources Management from U.C. Santa Cruz, and is a former Credentialed Manager through the International City-County Management Association (ICMA), a Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC), a former Certified Tourism Ambassador through Sonoma County Tourism, and received the 2011 ICMA Community Partnership Award for smaller jurisdictions. During her career, Linda has managed agencies during various economic cycles, natural disasters, regionalization of services, and recently served as the Interim Executive Director for the Kittitas County Habitat for Humanity organization.

As City Administrator, she will work closely with Mayor Tracie Markley and City Council, managing the City’s daily business, supervising all City departments and offices, and carrying out policies as set by Council by directing the work of City staff. She’ll be responsible for enforcing the laws of the City, informing the Mayor and Council on important matters relating to municipal government functions, and directing the preparation of the City’s budget.Β

The final appointment is contingent on successfully negotiating an employment agreement. Once complete, a start date will be announced. Ms. Kelly will then work with Interim City Administrator Tony Piasecki on a transition plan.Β
