Fall Prevention Signs Now Posted Around Town
The Peninsula Fall Prevention Coalition has posted signs to help reduce residents' risk of falling.
The Peninsula Fall Prevention Coalition is proud to announce the completion of the SAIL (Stay Active & Independent for Life) Sign project. Signs with simple exercises designed to help reduce your risk of falling can now be found in 3 locations in Gig Harbor and the Key Peninsula. These locations include:
- at Olympic Drive and Hollycroft
- at 3580 50th St. Ct.
- at 5514 Key Peninsula Highway N, Lakebay
The Coalition received a generous grant from West Region EMS & Trauma Care Council in order to make this project possible. In addition, The City of Gig Harbor and Key Pen Parks provided the locations and labor to install the signs.
The signs provide individuals who are walking the trail and parks to stop and participate in 7 exercises that are helpful in increasing your strength and balance, both necessary to help reduce your risk of falling.
