Prior to their arrival, officials said the workers used a dry chemical fire extinguisher and a hose line to help contain the fire.

The workers, who have been preparing to remodel the garage, said they had been using the wood stove for about a week with no issues. The structure was built in the 50s, and officials believe the heat from the chimney started the fire.
