GHPD Blotter: Car Prowls Hit Lewis Street

Tuesday, Feb. 14

Motor Vehicle Theft, 10 p.m. to 12 a.m. — The victim parked her car at , and when she came back at midnight, the car was missing.

Sunday, Feb. 19

Vehicle Prowl, 9:30 p.m. to 7 a.m. — An unknown suspect broke into a car in the 3400 block of Lewis Street and stole several items including a set of keys. Between 10 p.m. and 11:20 p.m. on Feb. 20, the suspect returned and stole the victim's work truck. His Good to Go account indicated that the vehicle crossed the Tacoma Narrows Bridge at 11:20 p.m. The truck also had about $2,000 worth of hand tools.

Monday, Feb. 20

Vehicle Prowl/Vandalism, between 12:30 a.m. and 4:13 a.m — A unknown suspect entered the victim's car in the 3300 block of Lewis Street. The victim said the thief took the keys to her unlocked vehicle that were left on the front passenger seat.

Vehicle Prowl, between 7:30 a.m. and 5:45 p.m. — An unknown suspect entered the unlocked vehicle at 5500 Olympic Drive behind and stole an ignition interlock device valued at $1,000.

Tuesday, Feb. 21

Theft, between 6 a.m. and 12:50 p.m. — An unknown suspect(s) siphoned gas out of the victim's pickup truck that was parked in the far southwest corner of the parking lot. The victim found a 15-foot long black garden hose hanging out of her gas tank and down an embankment. Police believe the thief stole about 5 gallons of gas.

Theft, between 12:50 p.m. and Feb. 25 12:28 p.m. — An unknown suspect(s) cut off the key lock box in the 4100 block of Vernhardson Street and stole the lock box, which contained the key to the vacant home for sale.

Wednesday, Feb. 22

Shoplifting/Arrest, 1:20 p.m. — Police responded to a shoplifting at Wilco involving a female and male suspects. The 20-year-old woman admitted to taking clothes and wearing numerous items from the store. She had on two jackets, some shirts, a pair of jeans and a belt. The woman was cited for theft in the 3rd degree. The woman attempted to steal $737 in items. Police also believe a third suspect, a 21-year-old male, was responsible for stealing about $64 in items but left on foot.

Thursday, Feb. 23

Vehicle Prowl, 3 a.m. and 6 a.m. — An unknown suspect entered a car in the 2800 block of 43rd Street NW and stole an MP3 player and a bowling ball.

Warrant/Arrest, 3:31 p.m. — Police arrested a 22-year-old male in the 6100 Soundview Drive for active felony warrant for unlawful possession of a controlled substance.

Saturday, Feb. 25

Trespassing/Arrest, 5:40 p.m. — Police were dispatched to an unwanted person at . The 31-year-old man, who has a history of trespassing at other local businesses, was issued a new trespass admonishment for the establishment. About 40 minutes later, he was arrested for trespassing at Harbor Plaza Shopping Center.

DWLS/Warrant Arrest, 10:33 p.m. — Police arrested a 35-year-old woman in the 5000 block of Pt. Fosdick Drive for three outstanding warrants: 2 DUI and 1 DWLS. Police also cited the driver for DWLS in the second degree, not having a required ignition interlock device and expired vehicle registration.
