GHPD Blotter: Thief Steals Steaks Off the Grill

Vehicle Prowl: Sometime between Jan. 26 and 27, about $3,000 worth of telecommunication tools and an $800 Dell laptop were stolen the vehicle that was parked in the 2500 block of 60th Street Court NW.

Shoplifting: On Jan. 27, police responded to in reference to a shoplifting incident. According to the employee, a couple came in and selected about $100 in food and items. While checking out, the man tried to pay with a Visa credit card under another woman's name that didn't belong to either of them. He said the card was his mother's, but the employee refused to accept the card. Police later learned that the card belonged to a victim from a vehicle prowl in June 2010. Once the couple left the store, the employee placed the bagged items on another counter. A few minutes later, the man returned to the store, grabbed the bags and ran out. The worker said the suspect fled in an unidentified car.

DUI/DWLS/Arrest: On Jan. 27, police arrested a 37-year-old woman in the 4800 block of Pt. Fosdick Drive NW. She was cited for DUI and third-degree DWLS.

Theft/Vandalism: On Jan. 27, the manager of came into work and found one of the security cameras missing near the self wash bays. According to the surveillance system, sometime during the night an 18- to 25-year-old white male hoisted himself on a garbage can, smashed the camera off the ceiling with a crowbar and left.

DWLS/Arrest: On Jan. 27, police arrested a 33-year-old man near SR Hwy 16 and Rosedale Street. He was cited for third-degree DWLS.

Motor Vehicle Theft: Sometime between Jan. 27 and 28, an unknown suspect(s) stole a car that was parked in the 2700 block of 37th Street NW.

DWLS/Arrest: On Jan. 30, police arrested a 54-year-old woman at the intersection of Olympic Drive and Pt. Fosdick Drive NW. Police cited the driver for third-degree DWLS and issued a verbal warning for an improper lane change.

Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance/Arrest: On Jan. 30, police approached a car that was parked at the Valero gas station. There were three people inside the car, and the officer also found a used marijuana "bong". After searching the vehicle, police located 1.8 grams of marijuana and a used glass pipe in the 18-year-old female driver's purse. Authorities also found a few marijuana roaches in the ash tray, a digital scale with marijuana residue and another used glass pipe in the arm rest. Police arrested the woman for unlawful possession of controlled substance.

Theft: On Jan. 31, the victim and her husband were cooking steaks on their outdoor grill in the 7300 block of Pioneer Way. They left the carport for two minutes, and when they returned, two steaks and some barbecue tools, including tongs, a large fork and the brush for the grill, were gone. The couple told police they had been victims of theft in the past and believe the same suspect(s) are responsible.

Theft: On Jan. 31, about 80 pills of Hydrocodone were stolen from a home in the 3400 block of Erickson Street.

Vehicle Prowl: Sometime between Jan. 31 and Feb. 1, an unknown suspect(s) entered a car in the 6300 block of Harbor Sunset Place. The thief stole $5 of change, Tupperware containers with food, makeup and a 3-prong car charger accessory.

Found Property: On Jan. 31, a sunglass case was found on top of a pay phone booth outside of . The case contained two glass pipes, two 750 mg of Hydrocodone pills and 84 small plastic bags.
