Gig Harbor School Calendar 2018-19: First Day of School, Vacation

GIG HARBOR, WA — The first day of school in Gig Harbor is August 29 — and whether you and the kids are looking forward to the new school year or are dreading the end of summer, you’ll want to mark the date on your calendar ASAP. The Gig Harbor District has released its 2018-2019 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates, such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

Here is the full list of dates to know for this school year:

September

• 9/3: No School (Labor Day)
• 9/4: First Day of School (Kindergarten)

October

• 10/8: No School (Fall Break Day)
• 10/22 - 10/26: Early Release (Grades K-8 Conference Week)

November

• 11/12: No School (Veterans Day Observed)
• 11/21 - 11/23: No School (Thanksgiving Recess)
• 11/30: No School (Professional Teacher Day)

December

• 12/2o - 12/31: No School (Winter Break)

January

• 1/1: No School (Winter Break)
• 1/21: No School (Martin Luther King Jr. Day)
• 1/25: No School (Semester Break)

February

• 2/18 - 2/22: No School (Mid-Winter Break)

March

• 3/15: No School (Staff In-Service Day)

April

• 4/15 - 4/19: No School (Spring Break)

May

• 5/24: Possible Snow Day Make-Up
• 5/24 - 5/27: No School (Memorial Day Long Weekend)

June

• 6/18: Last Day of School, Early Release Day
• 6/19 - 6/20: Possible Snow Day Make-Up
