Officials Release Sketch of Child Luring Suspect
The Pierce County Sheriff's Office released the sketch of a man who allegedly tried to lure a female student in his car on Oct. 21.
Pierce County Sheriff’s detectives are investigating a , near in Gig Harbor.
Sometime between 7:30 a.m. and 7:40 a.m., a 13-year-old girl was walking on 38th Avenue near the Goodman Middle schools’ athletic fields, when an unidentified suspect drove up to the girl in a white minivan.
The suspect asked the victim if he could give her a ride to school. When the victim said no, the suspect asked again and told the girl that she would be late to school (although school did not start for another 30 minutes).

The victim again said no, and the suspect slowly drove away westbound on 36th Avenue, heading toward . The victim then ran to school and reported the incident to her parents and school officials.
The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 45 to 50 years old, 6-feet tall, slender build, with short gray hair and unshaven gray facial hair stubble. The suspect’s vehicle is described as a newer white minivan with tinted windows.

The also notified the parents and guardians via pre-recorded message on Monday.
