1 Arrested, 1 Sought In Totem Lake Repair Shop Theft
Detectives said two men broke into a car repair shop early Monday, stole a car, and hit several others in the process.

KIRKLAND, WA โ Kirkland detectives are seeking a second man wanted in connection with a break-in and car theft Monday at a Totem Lake repair shop. In a news release Thursday, the Kirkland Police Department said a surveillance camera captured two men pulling up outside Doug's Auto Tune & Repair early Monday in a blue, four-door station wagon.
According to police, the video shows one man smashing the shop's front glass door, then finding a red Ford Focus parked in a repair bay. Footage shared on social media shows the driver unsuccessfully backing out of the bay unsuccessfully and hitting other vehicles before leaving the garage.
Officers in Bellevue spotted the stolen car a short time later and arrested the driver. Kirkland detectives are still investigating whether the man who was driving the vehicle was involved in the earlier robbery.

โThis case may help us solve other reported, or even unreported, break-ins at neighboring businesses,โ said Kirkland Deputy Police Chief Todd Aksdal. โShop owners donโt always report crimes, but weโre hoping this arrest will motivate other businesses to call 9-1-1 when illegal activities are happening or when theyโre discovered.โ
