Artists Sought To Help Decorate The Cross Kirkland Corridor
The city will pay an artist or team of artists more than $8,000 to create a new installation along the Cross Kirkland Corridor.
KIRKLAND, WA โ The city is looking for an artist or team of artists to create a new installation along the Cross Kirkland Corridor. Kirkland's Cultural Arts Commission put out the call this week seeking an "ephemeral, temporary or permanent art installation or performance," either as a single piece of art or a series of works.
The 5.75-mile corridor runs between the city's southern border and Totem Lake via a gravel trail, connecting pedestrians and cyclists with several parks and neighborhoods across Kirkland. The new art installation would join several others, including a railroad-themed structure and two murals.

"The artwork should be reflective of Kirkland's rich history, its connected community, stunning beauty, commitment to social justice, and devotion to good environmental stewardship," officials wrote. "The art installation may consist of one or more elements and should reflect the corridor's natural beauty as well as the diverse region of neighborhoods that it connects."
