UPDATE: City Computer, Phone System Restored
Technical issues forced City Hall off-line, and its phone lines are out as well. Repairs are expected to take four hours and be complete some time late Wednesday afternoon. The emergency 9-1-1 line remains operational.

UPDATE, Thursday, June 19, 6:30 a.m.: The City of Kirkland's computer and phone system has been restored after a technical glitch early Wednesday afternoon caused an outage. The city web site, phone lines and email are again operational, reports spokeswoman Marie Stake.

The phone and computer system at suffered an outage early Wednesday afternoon and it is expected to be down for up to four hours, city spokeswoman Marie Stake said.
โWe can take no calls or emails,โ she said by cell phone. โWe can still take walk-ins, but nothing electronic.โ

The emergency 9-1-1 line remains operational, Stake stressed.
The city web site also appeared to be out. Stake said city technical staff figured it would take up to four hours to fix. โIn IT-speak, a course switch went out,โ she said.
