Countdown to Kirkland Summerfest: This Week in Kirkland

A preview of some of the great events between Aug. 5 and 11, all leading up to Kirkland's Summerfest, the biggest family party around.

Every week is a great one to beย in Kirkland, but this week everything coming should be seen as an opportunityย to pump us up forย Kirkland Summerfest, the biggest family three-day party around.ย (If you haven't signed up to volunteer for just one three-hour shift at the event yet, do it today, lots of community help is needed for this amazing event!)

Tuesday, Aug. 6

  • Give crooks the boot by participating in National Night Out Against Crime.ย The Kirkland Police and Fire Departments will be attending community events between 6 and 9 p.m.ย  To show support of National Night Out, Kirkland residents are encouraged to get together with neighbors and friends.ย  Turn your porchlights on, come outside and take a stand against crime with your neighbors.ย
  • Tuesday's Kirkland Kids Concert features Recess Monkey--another must-see.
Wednesday, Aug. 7
Thursday, Aug. 8
  • The Thursday evening Concert in the park is hot Bluegrass bandย Frank Solivan and Dirty Kitchen.
Friday, Aug. 9-Sunday Aug. 11

  • Get yourself to Marina Park for all the good stuff at Summerfest--cardboard boat regatta, Shakespeare in the Park, the fish frolic,ย the Rotary rubber duck race--way too much to describe, so check out your favorite events on the Summerfest website!
There are many more events on our calendar, including a Saturday Botany Walk and much more, check them all out so you don't miss a thing, and if your group or organization is hosting a community event, add it to the calendar.
