Couple Donates Big Rig to Help Childrenโ€™s Health

Kirkland-based Kenworth Truck Co. is recognizing their donation and giving them a tour of its Renton plant.

An Edmonds couple with a longtime interest in big-rig trucks has used a decades-old stock investment to help improve childrenโ€™s health.ย

The pair have been fans of Kenworth Truck Co. since they lived near a Kenworth factory in Seattle 60 years ago and watched the brand new trucks leave the plant for test drives. Thatโ€™s when they decided to buy stock in , Kenworthโ€™sย  Bellevue-based parent company.ย

They recently decided to use that investment to benefit childrenโ€™s health, donating stock worth nearly $150,000 to buy a new Kenworth T660 for the Northwest Lions Foundation, which it uses to transport a mobile health screening unit.ย
