Don't Forget To Vote: Primary Ballots Due Tuesday

The King County Primary Election is Tuesday Aug. 7, and Kirkland voters starting Friday will have a new place to drop off their ballots.

Beginning Aug. 3, voters can save themselves a postage stamp by dropping their ballots at a King County Elections ballot drop van that will be at (123 5th Avenue). The dates and times are listed below:

• Friday, Aug. 3, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. 
• Saturday, Aug. 4, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. 
• Monday, Aug. 6, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. 
• Tuesday, Aug. 7, 7 a.m. - 8 p.m.

 

Ballots are due to the county or need to be postmarked by Aug. 7. There are permanant ballot drop boxes at  shopping center, Redmond City Hall and Lake Forest Park City Hall; unfortunately there are none in Kirkland.

King County has an all mail-in ballot, though voters with disabilities may vote in person at  from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Accessible voting units offer lap paddles and sip-and-puff devices, as well as audio, and large and high-contrast text options. All voters may use the accessible voting centers, though identification and signature will be required to vote in person.
