KIRKLAND, WA โ€” Recent storms have made quick work of many of the trees still clinging to their leaves this fall, and Kirkland is offering neighbors a little help in getting them cleared out over the coming weeks.

Leaf collection is free all November for Kirkland residents, with up to five extra bags or containers of yard waste accepted free of charge during regular, curbside trash pickup. The city asks that neighbors collect overflow leaves and other yard waste into paper bags or durable containers, then place them next to their gray cans on collection day.

Clearing out excess leaves helps keep storm drains clear and prevent localized flooding during heavy rain.
