End of Drivers' Strike Means Regular Waste Pickup Friday

Residents missed on Wednesday will get full garbage, yard waste and recycle service on Saturday.

KIRKLAND, Wash. โ€“ The restoration of residential garbage, recycling, and yard waste services in Kirkland affected by the Teamstersโ€™ Local 117 and 174 strike, , is underway.

  • Customers with regular Friday pickup will receive full garbage, recycling, and yard waste service today.ย  A double load will be collected at no additional cost.
  • Customers with regular Wednesday service will receive full garbage, recycling, and yard waste service on Saturday, August 4. A double load will be collected at no additional cost.
  • Customers that received garbage-only service on Thursday will have double loads of the recycling and yard waste picked up along with their garbage on their next regular service day (August 9).
  • The regular weekly collection schedule will resume on Monday.ย  Double loads from Monday and Tuesday customers will be collected on their respective regular collection days.ย
