Joe Goode Performance Group - Kirkland Performance Center

What does it mean to be a rambler? Is it your best Clint Eastwood impression? Is it flying away on a rocket ship? Is it the solitude of โ€œjust passing throughโ€? Joe Goode Performance Group โ€“ one of Americaโ€™s leading contemporary dance companies โ€“ brings this interdisciplinary piece to Kirkland for its Northwest Premiere. Funny, gorgeous, and very accessible, this fascinating will thrill dancers and non-dancers alike.

Artist Bio
Joe Goode Performance Group's innovative form of dance-theater is accessible, personal, and explores unabashed emotional terrain with humor and honesty. Using text, voice, and high velocity movement, JGPG blurs the line between theater and dance to make work that is thoughtful, groundbreaking, and deeply felt. JGPG believes in the power of theater to create a transformational experience. The work touches on social issuesโ€”including gender, race and sexualityโ€”with the idea of illuminating and investigating in order to stimulate questions and conversations. And perhaps remind the viewer of his/her own humanity, however flailing or imperfect that might be.
