Fifteen Longtime Kirkland Employees Receive Service Awards

Police Capt. Mike Ursino received a 30-year award, while 10 city employees received 25-year awards and four received 20-year awards.

Fifteen city employees were recognized for long service to Kirkland at the City Council meeting Tuesday night at City Hall -- the longest being Police Capt. Mike Ursino at 30 years.

Each was presented a service award from Mayor Joan McBride. Below is a list of those recognized:

Twenty years of service

  • Thomas V. Chriest, Public Works Department, Senior Construction Inspector;
  • Helen E. Ahrens-Byington, Deputy Fire Chief;
  • Hobart E. Hani, Fire Lieutenant;
  • Michael D. Aguilar, Firefighter.
Twenty-five years of service
  • Kathryn Coleman, Public Works Development Engineering Analyst;
  • John S. Haslip, Police Lieutenant;
  • Grace A. Steuart, Assistant Fire Marshal;
  • Barry L. Scott, Finance & Admin Purchasing Agent;
  • Marilynne M. Beard, City Managerโ€™s Office, Deputy City Manager;
  • Janice Coogan, Planning Senior Planner;
  • John Hopfauf, Public Works Street & Grounds Division Manager;
  • Judd E. Tuberg, Planning Code Enforcement Officer;
  • Eric W. Olsen, Chief of Police;
  • Richard N. Seibert, Police Lieutenant.
