Kangs Dump Sammamish 9-5, Improve to 7-1 in KingCo 3A

Robert Hill scattered four hits over five innings and struck out six as the High baseball team improved its KingCo 3A Conference record to 7-1 by beating Sammamish 9-5 Wednesday at in Kirkland.

Cashing in on a key error, the Kangs scored four runs in the first inning and never trailed. Nick Johnson drove in three runs while going 1-for-3 at the plate, and Shawn Gray had two hits in three at-bats.

Ahead 8-1 going into the fifth inning, LW Coach Derek Bingham gave his reserves some game time, and Sammamish rallied for four runs in the top of the 7th.

The Kangs, now 11-3 overall, travel to Renton Friday to take on Liberty (4-11) in a 4:30 p.m. start.
