KIRKLAND, WA โ€” Kirkland detectives are searching for a man wanted in connection with an early morning burglary that ended with several shots fired over the weekend. In a news release, the Kirkland Police Department said a man entered a home on Northeast 45 Street, west of Watershed Park, a few minutes before 4 a.m. Sunday.

Investigators said the suspect entered the home through an unlocked sliding door and began rummaging through the house while a family of four slept inside. The man entered an upstairs bedroom with a flashlight and approached the mother in bed, who called out to her husband in another room.

Police said the man fled the house but fired three gunshots into the home as he ran. Fortunately, none of the rounds struck the parents or young children inside.
