Kirkland Comes Together For Business Destroyed By Fire

A GoFundMe account has been set up to help the Bargelame family reopen Decks and Spas, which was detroyed by fire after 23-years in business

KIRKLAND, WA โ€“ "Thank you so much for your kindness and support!"

That's the message from Krystal Barghelame, whose family has owned and operated Decks and Spas for more than 20 years at the Rose Hill Village mall at 12655 Northeast 85th Street. The business was one of 10 destroyed in a three-alarm fire last week.

The GoFundMe page has raised more than $10,000 and is looking to raise $100,000.

"Your love has lifted us from our grief and helped us start building towards our new goal," Barghelame says.

She adds that they've already been able to find a temporary location right behind their old place.

The family says that the $100,000 โ€“ combined with insurance โ€“ will help them meet their goal of reopening.

On the GoFundMe page, they include a breakdown of what their expenses are:

  • One month employee salaries: $40,000
  • One month of rent: $8,000
  • Replacing inventory: $65,000
  • Building out a new showroom: $50,000
  • Replacing office equipment, computers, and IT: $12,000
  • Replacing tools: $20,000Marketing: $5,000

Barghelame says that if people have a "superpower" that can help them (such as tech skills, IT skills), they can contact them through Decks and Spas's Facebook page.

"We look forward to sharing our progress through this journey and celebrating with you once our doors are open and serving our community once again," she says.
