Kirkland Police, Postal Inspectors Intercept Illegal Steroids
Investigators said a search warrant in the Kingsgate neighborhood uncovered a "sophisticated illegal drug distribution operation."
KIRKLAND, WA โ The Kirkland Police Department joined forces with the U.S. Postal Inspector Service last month to bust an illegal drug operation running out of a Kingsgate home, according to investigators. In a news release, police said four suspects were identified, including three who were arrested, during the operation.
Police and postal investigators served a search warrant at the home in late August, where detectives said they discovered a sophisticated drug shipping operation, including packaging, distribution lists and chemicals used to facilitate the production and sale of anabolic steroids โ a Schedule III controlled substance โ to buyers across the nation. Investigators also found cash, vehicles, and a rifle.
Police opened the investigation in July, utilizing undercover detectives after authorities became aware of a resident who was believed to be distributing the steroids through the mail. Monitoring the suspect, including tracking daily activities, pointed investigators to evidence of further crimes, police said.
