Kirkland Teen Is King County 'Exceptional' Youth Volunteer

Julia Yagelowich, 16, works as a volunteer for Regional Animal Services of King County.

KIRKLAND, WA - Julia Yagelowich, 16, has been volunteering at Regional Animal Services of King County/Kirkland virtually every week since she was 12 years old, having contributed over 330 hours so far. Last month she received an Honorable Mention in the teen category of the 2018 Washington State Governor's Service Awards.

Julia is an exemplary role-model to both youth and adult volunteers, as her outstanding commitment is reflected in her reliable and skillful presence on her very busy shift. She has been absolutely superlative in her dedication, reliability, and great work.

Juliaโ€™s work contributed to the overall adoption of 565 homeless animals at the Kirkland facility in 2017. This represents about 25% of all of RASKCโ€™s adoptions in 2017.
