In November 2012, the Kirkland City Council considered a proposed ordinance prohibiting landlords from refusing to rent residential units based solely on a request by a rental applicant to use a Section 8 rental voucher to cover part of the rent.

The background materials provided to the Council for that meeting can be found on the Cityโ€™s website at www.kirklandwa.gov (Select: โ€œWatch City Council Meetings,โ€ select November 7, 2012 meeting.)ย  The City Council asked staff to conduct further public outreach before bringing the issue back to them in early 2013.
