KIRKLAND, WA โ€” With a little more than a week to go before Independence Day, the city of Kirkland is still looking for more participants and volunteers to help put on a show for the return of Celebrate Kirkland on July 4. Returning for the first time since the pandemic began, this year's theme is "Together Again" and will bring back the annual kids parade and main parade to Kirkland's downtown business district.

"We are thrilled to have this beloved Kirkland tradition back in person," said Kirkland Mayor Penny Sweet. "Being a volunteer or participating in the parade is a great way to meet new people and support the community. We need everyoneโ€™s involvement to make it a success."

Though the evening fireworks will be absent this year, there are a few other displays around the region for neighbors to check out, and the morning and afternoon promise plenty of opportunities for family fun.
