Lake Washington Half Marathon Will Impact Traffic Saturday
Hundreds of runners will descend on Juanita Beach Park this weekend to race and walk 13.1 miles for a good cause.
KIRKLAND, WA โ Orca Running's Lake Washington Half Marathon comes to Kirkland on Saturday, Nov. 5, giving runners and walkers a chance to take part in a scenic 13.1-mile loop that starts and ends at Juanita Beach Park.
According to the city, organizers expect 900 runners will take on the course this weekend, and several parking restrictions and road closures will be in place.
City officials said the boat launch will remain open with minor delays, and the Lakeshore Plaza parking lot will remain accessible via Kirkland Avenue. Vehicles parking anywhere along the race course will be towed. Proceeds from this year's registrations will benefit the nonprofit Friends of Youth.
