"As you may have heard, Governor Inslee held a press conference today, announcing that the statewide indoor mask mandate will be lifted on March 21, 2022. This change will impact schools and we expect that there will be some situations, such as riding buses, where masks may continue to be required.
Lake Washington School District will continue to follow the guidance and direction of the Department of Health and Seattle | King County Public Health as it specifically relates to the operation of our schools. Governor Inslee indicated that school districts will be receiving updated guidance from the Department of Health by March 7. We use this guidance to inform the layered safety measures in place to create safe learning opportunities for our students.

All students, staff and visitors will be expected to continue wearing masks while on our campuses through March 21. We will provide more explicit information to our staff and families after reviewing the Department of Health information and guidance.
We thank you for your continued flexibility as we navigate this pandemic together. We know you likely have many questions about this announcement, and we are anticipating receiving additional information from public health officials in the coming weeks. We will continue communicating with you as we learn about changes to the guidance for our district."
Sincerely,
Jon
