Man Arrested After Kirkland Crash, Carjacking & Chase

KIRKLAND, WA — A man driving a stolen car crashed into multiple vehicles in Kirkland on Wednesday before carjacking a minivan and leading officers and troopers on a chase into Bothell, according to police.

The Kirkland Police Department responded to the first incident just before 3 p.m. at the intersection of Northeast 124th Street and 124th Avenue Northeast. Officers learned one of the vehicles involved in the crash was stolen from a car dealership while it was being detailed, and witnesses described the driver fleeing from the crash.

Police said the suspect ran toward stopped traffic and forcefully stole a van, injuring the driver. Officers chased the van as it heard northbound on Interstate 405, and the driver crashed into another vehicle as he exited onto the Bothell Everett Highway, police said. The suspect continued into a store parking lot, where police were able to take him into custody.
