Marina Park Beach Still Closed, Nearby Areas Safe

Waverly Beach Park and David E. Brink Park were deemed safe for swimming or wading Sunday.

Beach closure signs remained in place again Sunday at Marina Park in Kirkland to protect public health/safety due to elevated levels of bacteria in the water following last T the King County Waste Treatment Division (WTD) said.

Water quality at nearby Waverly Beach Park and David E. Brink Park were good as of Sunday afternoon and deemed safe for swimming/wading.

The closure coincided with one of the area's warmest weekends so far, with temperatures reaching 81 degrees Fahrenheit. The public boat launch at Marina Park remained open for those taking advantage of the opening weekend of boating season.
